Smile

or: A simple change for a simple result

Sometimes one small change that can make me smile.

This week I made two small changes and every time I’m reminded of them, I smile again.

It really is the simple things.

All I did was change both my ringtone on my phone and the notification tone.

I told you it was the simple things!

My ringtone is now the Pink Panther theme tune.

This makes me smile because this is the logo for my scuba diving stamp that I put in the dive logbooks of everyone I take diving. It was chosen because most of my gear is pink (no guys will take it and my fins are very easy to spot underwater) and because I think it is a bit different too.

Even the ink in my stamp is pink.

Every time I hear it, I think of diving.

My notification ringtone is the start of the theme to The Jetsons.

This is one of my favorite cartoons from the 80s.

My other favourite was The Flintstones.

Clearly I liked both cartoon families from the past and families from the future and wasn’t overly interested in the families of the era I was in!

Every time I hear this one, I start singing to myself “Meet George Jetson… His boy Elroy…. Daughter Judy…. Jane, his wife” and again I smile.

It is also a lot less obnoxious than hearing “Yabbadabbadoooooo” whenever someone leaves a message.

Now I’m smiling however anyone contacts me not just because I’m having the opportunity to connect with someone,  but because the sounds letting me know someone wants to connect with me are fun in themselves.

It really is the simple things.

Thank you technology….

A slightly more complex thing.

Thanks to Nat King Cole for the title to this post.
